Ridz by the River: A gearhead gathering for Street Rods, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, and Trucks on the Etowah River for charity!

This car show has been a longtime dream for Dennis Graham. The challenges of 2020 didn’t allow gearheads to enjoy their rides, so he began thinking how cool it would be to jump start his intentions with a Halloween Car Show! With 5 weeks to prepare and a few volunteers the inaugural October 31, 2020 gathering drew over 210 cars and many more spectators than anyone imagined!

The favorable feedback proved how much everyone wanted a new show for this car crazy area. Dennis immediately decided to host another in spring of 2021, plus a September 2021 date. One of the most important additions to the May 2021 show was that the show began raising money, via sponsorships and donations, for our local BackPack Buddies Program which provides weekend meals to local children in food-insecure homes.
Below is a record of the growth of cars at the show as well as the growth of funds donated to Backpack Buddies:
• 1st show: 10/31/2020: 210 cars
• 2nd show: 5/15/2021: 500+ cars, $5k donated to Backpack Buddies
• 3rd show: 9/25/2021: 897 cars, $5k donated to Backpack Buddies
• 4th show: 5/21/2022: 1,500 cars, +/-6,500 spectators, $15k donated to Backpack Buddies. In addition, we were also able to donate an easy-up tent and custom donation buckets with the Backpack Buddies logo to be used at future Ridz shows.
